ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Thursday 5th November 2015

Still signs of some migration today with over 2,500 Starlings counted moving west along the coast during the morning. Several small flocks of Lapwing, totalling 115 birds were also noted heading west and presumed newly arriving Pink-feet, c300 birds, were counted during the day coming in off the sea. Four Whooper swans were seen flying west past Gore Point,  a late Swallow and a Merlin were over the east bank mid morning and a ring tailed Hen Harrier was again noted over the grazing marsh.
