ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

A breezy cool day with north-easterlies, there were some arrivals today with a Cuckoo in the dunes, 2 Grasshopper Warblers singing, 15 Swallows, 10 Chiffchaffs, 10 Blackcaps, 7 Lesser Whitethroats (3 ringed), 16 Sedge Warblers (2 ringed), 3 Whitethroats, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Redpoll sp and 5 Siskins flying over. In the moth traps 2 Powdered Quakers, 2 Small Quakers, and 2 Hebrew Characters were of note, and a Comma butterfly was in the dell area.
