Thursday 28th April 2016

A change in wind direction had the desired effect today with migrant species clearly taking advantage of the situation. Best of the bunch was a Wood Warbler singing by the pay hut at the western end of the NWT reserve, followed by a female Firecrest trapped and ringed at the Observatory. Other birds of note included a Turtle dove, Cuckoo, six Swifts, Ring Ouzel, Garden Warbler, Peregrine and Red Kite.
