ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE
REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

A warm sunny day as forecast, which produced a steady trickle of hirundines, mainly Swallows, over the Obs throughout the day. Six Swifts were noted early morning, as was a hunting Barn Owl, a Cuckoo and at least one vocal Redpoll around the Pines. Fourteen Pink-feet remain on the grazing marsh and on the NWT reserve, four Wheatears and a Ring Ouzel in the dunes. The moth trap produced eight moths of four species and six species of butterfly were also recorded which included a rather smart Peacock and Green Hairstreak.
