Tuesday 19th July 2016

A calm hot day, with the temperature reaching 32c by mid afternoon. Understandably bird active was limited, with a singing Turtle Dove near Redwell Marsh the highlight of the day. The moth trap held 35 species which included a Privet Hawk Moth, Drinker and Scalloped Oak. Eight species of Butterfly were noted, and three Damselfly species were recorded on the Obs pond which included at least one Emerald Damselfly.
