ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Saturday 20th August 2016

A blustery day with occasional showers, some passage migrants were present with a Pied Flycatcher in the pines just behind the Observatory, and 3 Wheatears and a Whinchat along the sea wall to Thornham. Also of note were 4 Yellow Wagtails low over Gore Point early morning.

Moth numbers were affected by the high winds and only 7 species included Archer's Dart, Flame Shoulder, Flounced Rustic and Lesser Yellow Underwing.
