On the sea today an adult Black Tern flew past east, with 30 Common Scoters, 4 Gannets, 22 Little Terns, 142 Sandwich Terns, 28 Common Terns and an unidentified auk also noted. 4 Black-tailed Godwits and 50+ Curlew were on the grazing marsh, and 2 Juvenile Stonechats were along the east bank for much of the day.
Moths were very sparse with a Dusky Sallow, Setaceous Hebrew Character, Straw Underwing and Flounced Rustic among the species caught. Butterflies included 1 Wall Brown, 6 Brown Argus, 1 Common Blue, 4 Peacocks, 3 Red Admirals, 20+ Meadow Browns, 10 Gatekeepers, 12 Large Whites and 5 Painted Ladies.
