ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE
REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

The Ferruginous Duck was in its usual place on the south side of Broadwater, and a drake Common Scoter was also on the bank near the waters edge. A Waxwing was feeding on Rosehips briefly near the Dowson Hide at the west end of the reserve. On the sea there was plenty of activity including 2 Eiders, 2 Long-tailed Ducks, 28 Red-breasted Mergansers, 6 Red-throated Divers, 2 Black-throated Divers, 3 Great Northern Divers, 1 Fulmar, 7 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Red-necked Grebes, 4 Slavonian Grebes, 5 Razorbills, and 2 Guillemots. A Peregrine was hunting the marsh.
