Sunday 2nd April 2017

A lovely spring day with light winds, highlights included a female Firecrest trapped and ringed, 6+ Redpolls, a female Brambling, 5 Siskins, a Red Kite over the grazing marsh and a kettle of 15+ Buzzards up over the ridge drifting east. The Black Redstart was heard singing briefly again in the middle of the reserve (just west of the Dell Hide) but still has not been seen!

An Oak Beauty, Red Chestnut and Hebrew Character were in the moth trap.
