ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

HEMPTON MOTH DAY RESULTS!!

Many thanks to those who came to our moth day at Hempton Marsh today. We had a terrific catch despite wet and windy conditions, with some species remaining to be identified, but overall 545 moths of 105+ species were counted!!

This included 18 Poplar, 4 Elephant, and Eyed Hawk Moths, Garden Tiger, Large Emerald, Dingy Shears, 2 Suspected, Minor Shoulder-knot, Rosy Footman, 3 Sharp-angled Carpet, Black-neck, Peppered Moth, Beautiful Hook-tip, 3 Burnished Brass, 2 Antler, Iron Prominent, Lesser Swallow Prominent, Pale Prominent, Buff Tip, White Satin, Crescent, Scalloped Oak, Broad-barred White, Lesser Cream Wave, 2 Water Veneer, Small Dotted Buff, 7 Double Lobed, not to mention 75 Mothers-of-Pearl!

Don't forget we will be moth trapping at Drove Orchards on Saturday 3rd August 2019 so please come and see what we have caught!
