On the sea today 140 Common Scoter, 5 Fulmars, 16 Gannets, 1 Little Tern, 167 Sandwich Terns and 4 Common Terns were recorded. Waders included Ringed Plover, 4 Whimbrel, 13 Curlew, 19 Black-tailed Godwits, 41 Bar-tailed Godwits, 3 Turnstones, 26 Sanderling, 43 Dunlin, one Common and 3 Green Sandpipers, 2 Redshank and 3 Snipe. A Treecreeper was in the pines.
Moths were abundant, with 12 Drinkers, 7 Marbled Clovers, 1 Small Elephant Hawk, 3 Dusky Sallow, 6 Scarce Footmen, 33 Rustic, 2 Rosy Footmen, 12 Cloaked Minor, a Sharp-angled Peacock, an Antler, 5 Brown-line Bright-eye, 4 Straw Underwing, 6 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 2 Southern Wainscot, 3 Rosy Minor, 3 Ruby Tiger, 4 Shuttle-shaped Dart, 3 Archer's Dart, 6 Least Yellow Underwing, 1 Clay, 1 Willow Beauty, 2 Dingy Footmen, 2 Brown Tail, a Least Carpet, 3 Yellow Tail, Small Blood-vein, Lychnis, 2 Fen Wainscot, 4 Shaded Broad-bar, a Straw Dot, 3 Flounced Rustic, 2 Tree-lichen Beauty, a Burnished Brass, 5 Garden Tiger, Mother of Pearl, 2 Common Pug, 3 Smoky Wainscot, Turnip, Rosy Rustic, Shore Wainscot, Coast Dart, 4 Common Rustic, Small Fan-footed Wave, 2 Silver Y, Large Yellow Underwing, Lime-speck Pug, Mouse Moth, Humming-bird Hawk, Dark Arches, Haworth's Pug, 3 Lyme Grass, 6 White-lined Dart, Large Yellow Underwing, Brown-veined Wainscot, Wormwood Pug and Webb's Wainscot.
A Silver-washed Fritillary was feeding at the buddlea in the afternoon, and an Emperor Dragonfly was also noted.
