A day of relentless rain with many birds keeping a low profile. The Dusky Warbler continued to skulk in the same area just west of the Heligoland trap and was seen in the willows briefly 12.45, and heard again later in the day. Other birds of interest today were a Great White Egret, Avocet, 3 Water Rails, 500 Golden Plover, 150+ Lapwings, 15 Black-tailed Godwits, a Spotted Redshank and 7 Snipe. Three Swallows and 4 House Martins were seen during the day and a Chiffchaff, 2 Stonechats and a Rock Pipit were also recorded.
In the moth traps the highlights were another Palpits vitrealis, a Pale Mottled Willow and a Dotted Chestnut (pictured above).
