REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Sunday 22nd November 2020

On the sea today 400+ Common Scoter, 2 Goldeneye, 3 drake Red-breasted Mergansers, 3 Red-throated Divers, 10 Gannets, 9 Great Crested Grebes and 3 Guillemots were seen. A Bar-headed Goose of suspicious origins was on the grazing marsh once again, and a Peregrine was in Thornham Harbour, a Stonechat was on the east bank, and single Siskin and Crossbill flew over the pines calling.

 

A Peacock butterfly was near the Observatory around midday.
