ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Thursday 28th October 2021

Another relentlessly blustery day, on the sea highlights were an Eider, 19 Common and 2 Velvet Scoter, 10 Red-throated Divers, a Great Northern Diver, 2 Gannets, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Razorbills and 2 Guillemots. A Bearded Tit was around the Broadwater and a Grey Wagtail, Rock Pipit, 6 Bramblings, 4 Redpoll sp and 8 Siskins were noted.
 
Moths included a Silver Y, Black Rustic, 2 Large Wainscots, Shore Wainscot, 2 Beaded Chestnuts and a Large Yellow Underwing. A few Common Darters were still on the wing and a Painted Lady was also seen.
