With favourable winds this morning the sea was very much the centre of attention with a five hour seawatch producing counts of 448 Brent Geese, 2518 Wigeon, 266 Teal, 6 Eider, 568 Common Scoter, 4 Red-breasted Merganser, 35 Red-throated Diver, 18 Great Crested Grebe, 393 Gannet, 35 Arctic Skua, 9 Great Skua, 3 Manx Shearwater, 2 Sooty Shearwater, 96 Pintail, 4 Whooper Swan, 4 Scaup and single Fulmar, Arctic Tern and Purple Sandpiper. A female Peregrine was also noted flying east, then in over the grazing marsh. A Short-eared Owl was seen coming in off the sea later in the day, a Great White Egret was on the grazing Marsh and at least one Brambling was in the Pines.
