REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Sunday 21st November 2021

A northerly blast made for some good seawatching, with 16 Eider, 2 Long-tailed Ducks, 36 Common Scoters, a Goldeneye, 5 Red-breasted Mergansers, 3 Red-throated  Divers, 3 Fulmars, Sooty and Manx Shearwaters, 99 Gannets, 12 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Pom Skuas, 9 Great Skuas, a Puffin and 3 Guillemots, 636 Kittiwakes and 2 Little Gulls recorded. Also of interest were a Pintail on the Broadwater, and a Barn Owl at the back of the grazing marsh late afternoon.
