ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Thursday 2nd December 2021

Another day of cold northerlies, the sea produced 4 Eider, 41 Common Scoters, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 3 Red-throated Divers, 22 Fulmars, a Gannet, a Great Crested Grebe and 219 Kittiwakes, with 10 Great Skuas, Black-throated Diver and Great Northern Diver, Razorbill and Woodcock also seen. Two Stonechats were still on the east bank and a  Bearded Tit was on the edge of the Broadwater. A flock of 300 Golden Plover was on the grazing marshes.
