Holme Bird Observatory (Header)

COVID Safety on Our Reserves: Under present circumstances access to Seawatching and Car Park hides is now possible by agreement for up to four people, but please be considerate of others in view of ongoing COVID risks. For our other hides, due to size, we continue to recommend one household at a time only. The Observatory building remains closed to visitors at present and we will continue to provide hand sanitiser on site for all visitors entering and leaving reserves.

Holme Bird Observatory Tuesday 21st December 2021

At least twelve Great Northern Divers were counted on the sea early morning with further counts of 36 Red-breasted Mergansers, 28 Great Crested Grebe, 24 Eider, 6 Red-throated Diver, 2 Goldeneye and a Puffin. A flock of 23 Snow Buntings flew along the beach and a Great Spotted Woodpecker and Chiffchaff were noted in the pines.
