This is a polite reminder to all our members that our subscription rates have increased from 1st January. COVID Safety on Our Reserves: Under present circumstances access to Seawatching and Car Park hides is now possible by agreement for up to four people, but please be considerate of others in view of ongoing COVID risks. For our other hides, due to size, we continue to recommend one household at a time only. The Observatory building remains closed to visitors at present and we will continue to provide hand sanitiser on site for all visitors entering and leaving reserves.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 1st January 20221

On the sea today, one Eider, 41 Common Scoter, a Goldeneye, 9 Red-breasted Mergansers and a Great Crested Grebe were seen, while on the grazing marsh 500+ Lapwings and 900+ Golden Plover were among the many birds present. A Barn Owl was hunting early evening.
