ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Friday 11th February 2022

On the grazing marsh today at least 1200 Golden Plover and 800 Lapwings were counted, together with 2 Ruff and 2 Black-tailed Godwits. Two Red Kites drifted out towards Thornham Harbour, and a Great White Egret was of note. On the sea 5 Eider, 4 Red-breasted Mergansers and 4 Great Crested Grebes were of interest, with 2 Kittiwakes also seen.
