ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 2nd April 2022

On the sea today 2000 Common Scoter, 3 Great Crested Grebes and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers were recorded. A Great White Egret flew west south of the Broadwater and a Water Rail was heard. Five Redwings and 25 Bramblings were in the pines and a Tree Pipit was feeding on the east bank early afternoon.

A Shoulder-stripe and a Common Quaker were in the moth traps and 6 newts were in the pond.
