ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 9th April 2022

On the sea today 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, a Fulmar, Gannet and a Great Crested Grebe were seen. A flock of 400 Golden Plover were seen along the ridge, and 3 Black-tailed Godwits, 96 Curlew, 40 Lapwings and 8 Avocets were counted. A male Blackcap was singing and a Fieldfare was at the village hides. A single Brambling, 2 Bullfinches and 3 Siskins were also counted.

A Speckled Wood was in the pines and 4 Hebrew Characters, an Early Grey and a Pale Pinion were caught in the moth traps.
