ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Monday 2nd January 2023

 An Eastern Lesser Whitethroat was trapped and ringed at 9.05am, and later seen near the Richardson Hide. At least 1 Firecrest was still present and 4 Shorelark were just off the Golf Course. Other birds of note were 5,225 Pink-feet, 204 Brents, 464 Wigeon, 20 Pintail past offshore, a Barn Owl hunting near Redwell Marsh, Kingfisher, 2 Blackcaps and a Stonechat.
