ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Friday 12th May 2023

A Hoopoe was seen at the east end of the dunes on the NWT reserve at 1.40pm. At Thornham a Wood Sandpiper and a drake Garganey were showing near the sea wall. At least 2 Cuckoos were present.

In the moth traps a Pine Beauty, Cinnabar, Small Waved Umber, Shuttle-shaped Dart, 6 Muslin, 2 Heart & Darts, 2 Treble Lines, 2 Streamers, Northern Drab and 2 Yellow Belles were caught.
