Another cool northerly breeze today, with the drake Garganey, 3 Wood Sandpipers, a Little Ringed Plover and an adult Little Stint all at Thornham. Also of interest were a Spoonbill, 5 Little Terns east, Cuckoo, 22+ Swifts, 25 House Martins and 14 Swallows, and a pair of Stonechats.
Moths included 2 Bordered Whites, a Streamer, 5 Muslin, Pine
Beauty, White Ermine, Flame Shoulder, 3 Northern Drabs, Waved Umber, 2 Treble
Lines, 2 Swallow Prominent, Vine's Rustic, 5 Shuttle-shaped Darts, an
Angle-barred Pug, Cinnabar, 2 Nutmeg, a Chocolate Tip, Heart & Dart,
Turnip, Yellow Belle, Silver Y and Sharp-angled Peacock. Butterflies noted were
4 Wall Browns, 3 Green Hairstreaks, 2 Small Coppers and a Brimstone. Two Large Red Damselflies were near the main pond.
