Despite the continuous rain at least one Firecrest was seen around the NOA reserve today, and a female Common Scoter was on the Broadwater. A Greenshank was near the Hun sluice, and 4 Swallows passed through. A Willow Warbler and a Common Whitethroat were of note and on the NWT reserve a Sedge Warbler had arrived and a female Redstart was in the dunes. 5 Wheatears were on the grazing marsh together with at least 2 Yellow Wagtails.
Similar weather conditions at Walsey kept activity to a minimum, with 2 Swallows and a Mistle Thrush noted heading east along the front of the hill. In the scrub 2 Willow Warblers, 6 Blackcaps, 3 Chiffchaff, 3 Bullfinch and 1 Cetti's Warbler were seen. The first Sedge Warbler of the year was recorded nearby on the marsh.
