Insects were more abundant today with 2 Poplars, an Eyed Hawk Moth, a Small Elephant Hawk, 2 Waved and one Small Waved Umber, a Diamond-back, and Vine's Rustic among the moth catch. A total of 20 Brown Argus were counted around the reserve in the afternoon with Green Hairstreak, Common Blue, Small Copper and Orange Tip also in good numbers. An Azure Damselfly was also noted.
Highlights from Walsey included 2 Spoonbills going west in the morning, a single Swift, 40 Swallows, 10 Sand Martins and 3 singing Cetti's Warblers.
