ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Sunday 19th June 2016

Today's highlights were a Cuckoo over Redwell Marsh, a Turtle Dove, a small passage of Swifts, a Cetti's Warbler at the west end of the reserve, and 2 Lesser Whitethroats, a juvenile ringed and a male bird singing.
Moths included a Pine Hawk moth, and a Meadow Brown and 4 Speckled Woods were also of note.

At Walsey Hills 8 Spoonbills passed over before flying east, highlights were otherwise limited to a pair of Mediterranean Gulls flying west. Two Large Whites and 4 Speckled Woods were seen whilst a Hairy Dragonfly and Four-spotted Chaser were basking on the Gorse.
