Wednesday 15th June 2016

A day weather wise in complete contrast with yesterday with the sun at times even managing to come out! A Short-eared Owl was seen several times along the approach track to the reserve though the biggest surprise was a singing Firecrest in the pines adjacent to the observatory building. Other birds of note again included Cuckoo, Med Gull and Turtle Dove, plus a small group of five flyover Black-tailed Godwit and a Spotted Redshank. Notable moths included a Flame Wainscot and a figure of Eighty.
