ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

 A reminder that the NOA Moth Day takes place tomorrow at the Observatory starting at 10am, running until around 12 noon. Please do come along to this free event - all are welcome!

63 species of moth were in the traps including Poplar, Eyed and Privet Hawk-moths, Garden Tiger, Rosy Footman, 2 Ferns, 5 Swallow-tailed Moths, 3 Kent Black Arches, a female Ghost Moth and 2 Diamond-backs.

A fairly limited census saw a Turtle Dove in the NWT Forestry, Whimbrel heard over the grazing marsh and 22 Curlews over east. Reed Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat and Great Tit were caught and ringed.

In the evening 5 Spoonbills flew west over Holme Marsh.
