A beautiful summer day today, with plenty of bird activity. On the seawatch 23 Teal, 1 Fulmar, 5 Gannets, an Arctic Skua, 170 Sandwich Terns, 140 Common Terns, a Greenshank and 15 Swallows were among the highlights, with Golden Plover, 9 Black-tailed Godwits, 5 Dunlin, a Little Stint, a Common and 2 Green Sandpipers and 20 Snipe were all recorded. Also of interest were a Lesser Whitethroat, 10 Whitethroats, 2 Whinchats, 2 Stonechats, and single Yellow and Grey Wagtails.
In the moth trap an Antler Moth, 2 Twin-spotted Wainscots and a Brown-veined Wainscot brought some unexpected excitement!
