Monday 22nd August 2016

A blustery day with rain early morning and again later. At least one Pied Flycatcher was still in the east end of the pines behind the Observatory with a Redstart also seen. Two Wheatears were also reported.

Moths were better today with Brimstone, Rustic, Archer's Dart and Setaceous Hebrew Character among the 10 species caught. Despite the weather a Holly Blue, Red Admiral and Small Tortoiseshell were around the buddleia.
