A breezy morning gave way to a particularly hot afternoon with birds of interest including a Spoonbill seen flying west, Crossbill over and an Arctic Skua and Little Stint seen in Thornham Harbour. In the pines Great Spotted and Green Woodpeckers were present whilst Black-tailed Godwit and Greenshank were also noted. Two young Stonechats were caught along the east bank and the first Meadow Pipits of the autumn also, with 3 ringed.
At Walsey Hills highlights were limited to 8 Spoonbill seen feeding on the marshes and a Hobby hawking over the East Bank. On the scrapes a Garganey was seen from Bishop Hide, and in the evening 2 Caspian Gulls and 7 Yellow-legged Gulls were in the roost.
