Winds swung into the south west today with some visual migration early morning but things quickly went rather quiet. There was no further sign of the Dusky or the Pallas' Warbler, the highlight was a group of 3 Waxwings near Redwell hide, but these birds were mobile. Also of note were a Water Rail, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, 16 Snipe, a Barn and a Tawny Owl, 2 Kingfishers, 2 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, 1200 Starlings passing westwards, 2 Fieldfares, 51 Redwings, 3+ Stonechats, 3 Bramblings, and 2 Redpolls.
