Spring was in full flow today with a forceful south westerly and temperatures hitting 20 Celcius during the day. A male Ring Ouzel was in the dunes on the NWT reserve, about 300 yards west of the Firs, and 7 Sand Martins and 4 Swallows were recorded flying through, while on the grazing marsh 4 Barnacle Geese were still present and at least 2 Siskins were among the flock of Linnets and Goldfinches in the pines, while at least 5 Chiffchaffs were in the area, a Black-tailed Godwit was on the NWT pools and 22 Snipe were counted.
There were no moths in the traps today but two Brimstones, 2 Small Tortoiseshells and a Peacock butterfly were of note.
