ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Wednesday 17th June 2020

Spoonbills, an adult and two juveniles, were again on the Broadwater today and the Starling flock increased to around 500 birds, though numerous searches through them during the day revealed nothing different in amongst them! A  Water Vole was  a nice surprise, watched for several minutes along the River Hun early morning.

More interesting moths in the traps included a Coxcomb Prominent, Barred Straw, Privet Hawkmoth and a rather smart Puss moth.
