A very hot and sunny day developing but some interesting sightings including 70 Golden Plover, 26 Whimbrel and 30 Black-tailed Godwits flying east over the grazing marsh, a Greenshank flying over calling, and a Grey Wagtail passing west.
Moths today included a Black Arches, Red-barred Twin-spot Carpet, 6 Scarce Footmen, a Marbled Clover, 3 Ruby Tigers, 9 Flounced Rustics, 15 Shuttle-shaped Darts, 2 Common Rustics, 6 Archer's Darts, a Vine's Rustic, 5 Straw Underwings, a Wormwood Pug, a Mother of Pearl, 5 White-line Darts, 3 Dingy Footmen, a Rosy Footman, 2 Yellow Tails, a Small Elephant Hawk, Knot Grass, Willow Beauty, 5 Silver Y, Least Carpet, Tree-lichen Beauty, Cream-bordered Green Pea, 3 Rosy Minors, a Rosy Wave, a Garden Tiger, and an Oak Processionary, one of a few to be caught in the area in recent days.

Butterflies included Common Blue, Brown Argus, Comma, Wall Brown and Gatekeeper, and there were 3+ Migrant Hawkers feeding around the reserve, 2 Common Darters and an Azure Damselfly were also noted.
