ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory 31st January 2021

A drake Pintail and a female Common Scoter were asleep on the edge of the Broadwater today, and on the sea 1,228 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 8 Red-throated Divers, 2 Fulmars and 6 Great Crested Grebes were counted. Two Water Rails and a Tawny Owl were heard near the village, and a Peregrine was hunting over the Observatory. A Cetti's Warbler was calling and a male Stonechat was on the fence near the sea wall. A total of 7 Bullfinches were around the recording area.
