ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Monday 1st February 2021

A female Merlin was seen near the sea wall at Thornham and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers were in Thonrham Channel. Two Rock Pipits were near the coal barn. A Red Kite drifted over the A149 and a Water Rail was heard from the reedbeds. At least 150 Fieldfares was at the back of Drove Orchards and a male Stonechat was on the east bank.
