Holme Bird Observatory Friday 23rd July 2021

 A Great White Egret and Green Sandpiper were on the Broadwater with a male Stonechat along the east bank and a single Black-tailed Godwit flying east. A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling near the car park and 2 Spoonbills flew east mid afternoon.
 
Moths today included 17 Ruby Tigers, 2 Grey Dagger agg, 42 Common Footman, 23 Scarce Footman, 2 Haworth’s Pug, a Sycamore, 4 Cloaked Minor, 3 Rosy Footman, 6 Pine Hawk, 3 Oak Eggar, 2 Single Dotted Wave, a Poplar Hawk, a Peppered Moth, 2 Spectacle, 5 Yellow Tail, 5 Least Carpet, 8 Rustic, a Dwarf Cream Wave, Silver Y, Riband Wave, Smoky Wainscot, 2 White-line Dart, 3 Archer’s Dart, 7 Drinker, Campion, Small Scallop, Dingy Footman, Early Thorn, 6 Garden Tiger, 4 Knot Grass, 2 Fen Wainscot, Ear Moth, Brown-line Bright-eye, Dusky Plume, 4 Dark Arches, 2 Uncertain, Lesser Cream Wave, Lyme Grass, Mottled Rustic, 2 Common Rustic, Turnip, True Lover’s Knot, Poplar Hawk, Silky Wainscot, Tawny Shears, Dot Moth, 3 Clay, Sharp-angled Peacock, Small Emerald and Nut-tree Tussock.
