ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Friday 20th August 2021

Further movement today included Spotted Redshank, 2 Greenshank, 12 Whimbrel, 6 Snipe, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 3 Hobbies west and 8+ Yellow Wagtails flying over calling.
 
Moths today included 7 Drinkers, 3 Cloaked Minors, a Common Carpet, 28 Dingy Footman, 4 Sharp-angled Peacock, 7 Archer’s Dart, 14 Flounced Rustic, 4 White-line Dart, Common Wainscot, 3 Small Fan-footed Wave, 4 Single Dotted Wave, 9 Straw Dot, 5 Flame Shoulder, 7 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 6 Scarce Footman, 2 Rosy Footman, 5 Yellow Tail, Yellow Belle, 3 Garden Pebble, Pebble Hook-tip, Turnip, 4 Rustic, Purple Bar, Green Carpet, Shuttle-shaped Dart, 2 Knot Grass, Small Scallop, 2 Vine’s Rustic, 4 Large Yellow Underwing, Blood Vein, Ear agg, Setaceous Hebrew Character, Lime-speck Pug, Kent Black Arches, Ruby Tiger, Coronet and Angle-barred Pug.
Moth of the day, however was a superb little Gem Moth.
