ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Sunday 29th August 2021

Another mixed day, with seawatching producing 31 Common Scoter, a Red-throated Diver west, one Fulmar, 2 Shearwater sp, 36 Gannets, a Great Crested Grebe, 8 Arctic Skuas, a Bonxie west, 2 Auk sp, 46 Sandwich Terns and 2 Common Terns. Also of interest were 3 Whimbrel, 25 Black-tailed Godwits and a Green Sandpiper.
 
Moths were a little more abundant today with 2 Straw Dots, 3 Spectacles, Garden Pebble, Large Yellow Underwing, 6 White-line Dart, Snout, Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 6 Flounced Rustic, 5 Green Carpet, 2 Square-spot Rustic, Cabbage, Small Square-spot, Frosted Orange, and Ear Moth agg.
