ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Monday 18th October 2021

On the sea today 2 Common Scoters, 5 Red-throated Divers, at least one Great Northern Diver, 45 Gannets, 4 Great Crested Grebes, 7 Razorbills and 9 Guillemots were seen. Other birds of interest were 4 Pintail on the Broadwater, 3 Water Rails, a Spotted Redshank, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Kingfishers, 3 Bearded Tits, 64 Redwings, 7 Stonechats, 3 Grey Wagtails, 6 Rock Pipits, a Water Pipit, a Brambling and 35 Siskins.
 
Moths were sparse, but 12 Large Wainscots, a Large Yellow Underwing and a Merveille du Jour were caught.
