ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Sunday 17th October 2021

An unsettled day with some rain. A Whooper Swan flew in off the sea and was on Broadwater for part of the day, with a drake Pintail also noted. Other birds of interest were a Spotted Redshank, 2 Water Rails, 4 Snipe, Peregrine, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 4 Jays, 3 Bearded Tits, a Chiffchaff, 5 Tree Sparrows flying over, 4 Grey Wagtails, 6 Rock Pipits and 15 Siskins.
 
Moths included a Setaceous Hebrew Character, 4 Large Yellow Underwings, 4 Large Wainscots, Chestnut, Beaded Chestnut and Vine's Rustic.
