ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 16th October 2021

A day of moderate south westerlies with some sunshine, highlights included at least 3 Red-throated Divers offshore, 30+ Gannets, 7 Red Kites drifting over during the day, 4 Spoonbills east, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, 2+ Bearded Tits, 30 Skylarks, 4 Cetti’s Warblers, 25 Meadow Pipits, 7 Rock Pipits, 3 Bramblings, 15 Redwings and 10+ Siskins. A Green Woodpecker was in the pines.
 
Moths were sparse with just 6 Large Wainscots, 2 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 Beaded Chestnuts and a Black Rustic recorded.
