ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Monday 15th November 2021

A calm day with sunshine mid afternoon, highlights included 3 Pintail on the Broadwater, an Eider, 8 Common Scoter, Goldeneye, Razorbill, 2 Guillemots, Red and Black-throated Divers offshore. Other bird of interest included a Woodcock in the scrub near the west end of the reserve, 3 Snipe, 221 Lapwing, 4 Stonechats, 2 Rock Pipits, 6 Brambling, a Redpoll, 15 Siskins and a Lapland Bunting was at Thornham near the Coal Barn in the morning.

On Redwell Marsh a Cattle Egret was of note, and a Rosy Starling was reported with a small group of Starlings.
