ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 14th November 2021

A Dusky Warbler was reported near the NWT access gate mid morning but no further sign for the remainder of the day. On the sea 19 Common Scoter, 3 Goldeneye, 7 Red-breasted Mergansers, 7 Red-throated Divers, 7 Gannets, 6 Great Crested Grebes, a Great Skua and a Guillemot were seen. Two Woodcock were in the car park area, and a Blackcap and a Rock Pipit were trapped and ringed. Also of interest were 3,500 Starlings, 25 Blackbirds, 12 Fieldfares, 3 Song Thrushes, 30 Redwings, 2 Stonechats, 2 Bramblings and 12 Siskins.
