Another blustery and cool day with much sunshine, highlights were 3 Whimbrel, a Wood Sandpiper near the sea wall at Thornham, 14 Golden Plover, a Ruff, a Cuckoo, 9 Swallows, 6 Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler, 8 Blackcaps, 4 Lesser Whitethroats, 6 Whitethroats, 7 Sedge Warblers, 1 Reed Warbler, a Grasshopper Warbler, a Ring Ouzel in the dunes, 2 Stonechats, 3 Wheatears, 2 Yellow Wagtails and 4 White Wagtails.
In the moth traps 2 Small Elephant Hawk Moths, 2 Emperors, a Buff Tip, 3 Muslins, a Red-green Carpet, and a Cinnabar were caught, with Wall Brown, Small Copper, Green-veined White and Orange Tip also seen around the reserve.
