ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Thursday 30th June 2022

A Cuckoo was calling in the dunes and a Grasshopper Warbler was reeling west of the car parks. 

In the moth traps a Small Magpie, Spectacle, Swallowtail, Bright-line Brown-eye, 8 Large Yellow Underwing, Buff Tip, 4 Flame, 3 Barred Straw, 3 Pine Hawk, 2 Common Footman, 2 Bordered Whites, 8 Cinnabar, Poplar Hawk, Buff Ermine, 2 Scarce Footman, 5 Brown Tails, 2 Rosy Footman, 2 Barred Yellow, Peppered Moth, 2 Eyed Hawks, Small Elephant Hawk, Shaded Pug, Small Blood-vein, Drinker, 2 Kent Black Arches, Dark Arches, White Point, Flame Shoulder, Uncertain, 3 Rustic, 2 Shoulder-striped Wainscots, 2 Smoky Wainscots, Dwarf Cream Wave, Mottled Rustic, Striped Wainscot, Mother of Pearl, 2 White-line Darts and a Wormwood Pug were caught.
