A good seawatch this morning produced 2 Eider, 90 Common Scoter, 11 Fulmars, 11 Gannets, 206 Sandwich Terns, 8 Common Terns, 16 Little Terns, 4 Little Gulls and 2 Med Gulls, with 440 Knot, 126 Grey Plover and 85 Dunlin also counted. A family of Stonechats was still around the Observatory and a Barn Owl was hunting at the back of the grazing marsh at the end of the afternoon.
Moths today included 2 Willow Beauties, 2 Yellow-tails, 3 Single Dotted Waves, 26 Common Footmen, 2 Cinnabar, 2 Riband Waves, Common White Wave, 4 Dingy Footmen, 5 Kent Black Arches, 3 Rustics, Dwarf Cream Wave, Sharp-angled Peacock, 5 Scarce Footmen, Small Blood-vein, Swallowtail, 6 Uncertain, 3 Oak Eggars, 8 Rosy Footmen, Buff-tip, Ruby Tiger, 3 Smoky Wainscots, Pebble Prominent, Flame, 2 Garden Tiger, 2 Small Fan-footed Waves, Peppered Moth, 2 Pine Hawks, 2 Small Magpies, Drinker, Haworth's Pug, Tawny-barred Angle, 2 Ferns, Lyme Grass, 2 Dark Arches, Heart & Club, Archer's Dart, Chinese Character, Double Square-spot, Spectacle, Pretty Chalk Carpet, Mottled Rustic, Fen Wainscot, Striped Wainscot and Buff Footman.
Painted Lady, Green-veined White, Gatekeeper, Peacock, Red Admiral, Comma, Small Heath and Meadow Brown were the butterflies seen.
